Mission of peptides&elephants

Our Mission is to provide high quality research peptides quickly and efficiently, to ensure complete customer satisfaction. With a deep specialization in immunology, we are your trusted partner for T-cell immunology, driving advancements in infectious disease and cancer research.

We are a dedicated team of highly qualified individuals equipped to handle projects of any scale, from routine peptide orders to highly specialized requirements. Understanding that successful research relies on strong partnerships, we provide personal customer service for your project.

By developing our peptide synthesis robots in-house, we maintain full control over the entire manufacturing process. This ensures absolute consistency and efficiency for both our standard catalog peptides and custom syntheses.

To achieve this, we draw on 25 years of experience in peptide synthesis and robot development.

Dr. Oliver Kreuzer: Combining peptide expertise and in depth technical knowledge

peptides&elephants was established in 2001 by Dr. Oliver J. Kreuzer and fellow researchers from the German Institute of Human Nutrition in Potsdam and the Charité in Berlin.

Dr. Kreuzer has had a long-standing passion for peptides. His diploma thesis in Chemical Engineering already centered around automated peptide processing. He continued this focus at Evotec, where he started to create his first peptide synthesis robot. His doctoral thesis on hormone receptors then led him to explore the user side of peptide chemistry. Experienced in both fields and equipped with an entrepreneurial spirit, he and his colleagues established their own company, bringing to life the first high parallel peptide synthesizer.

This company‘s first patented product spurred a major development: It paved the way for super-fast peptide library screening concepts, which have been adapted by peptide CMOs worldwide for use in drug discovery and immune research.

Over the following decades, Dr. Kreuzer evolved into a distinguished peptide expert, acquiring an intimate understanding of every amino acid's unique chemical properties. Coupled with his in-depth technical expertise, he was able to bring to life another groundbreaking invention: the proprietary Ultrasonic Peptide Synthesis USPS® platform. This market-leading technology can synthesize 192 separate peptides in the astonishingly short span of eight hours.
